Ministry in North Western Region

Felix Bayo

REGIONAL COORDINATOR - North Western region

The Northwestern region branch of Scripture Union Uganda (SUU) engages in various activities to reach out to young people and promote spiritual growth. Here are some of the activities conducted by SUU in the region:

  1. School Fellowships: SUU organizes regular school fellowships where students gather for worship, Bible study, and prayer. These fellowships provide a safe and supportive environment for young people to explore their faith, ask questions, and deepen their understanding of the Gospel.

  2. Camps and Retreats: SUU conducts camps and retreats in the Northwestern region, offering young people an opportunity to disconnect from their daily routines and focus on their spiritual lives. These camps involve a combination of Bible teachings, group discussions, team-building activities, sports, and recreation. They create a space for young people to build relationships, encounter God, and experience personal growth.

  3. Leadership Training: SUU recognizes the importance of developing young leaders. The organization conducts leadership training programs that equip young people with practical skills, biblical knowledge, and character development. These programs empower young leaders to serve as positive influencers in their schools, churches, and communities.

  4. Discipleship Programs: SUU offers discipleship programs where young people are paired with mentors who provide guidance, support, and accountability. Through one-on-one or small group discipleship, young people receive mentorship in their faith journey, personal struggles, and spiritual growth.

  5. Community Outreach: SUU engages in various community outreach initiatives in the Northwestern region. These initiatives may include organizing medical camps, providing educational support such as tutoring or school supplies, and participating in social welfare projects. Through these activities, SUU aims to demonstrate God’s love and address the practical needs of the community.

  6. Training and Workshops: SUU conducts training sessions and workshops for teachers, youth leaders, and volunteers in the Northwestern region. These sessions equip individuals with the knowledge and skills to effectively engage with young people, teach the Bible, and create impactful programs and activities.

  7. Scripture Distribution: SUU distributes Bibles, Scripture booklets, and Christian literature to young people in the Northwestern region. This helps them access and engage with God’s Word, fostering a deeper understanding of biblical principles and encouraging personal study.

  8. Evangelism and Missions: SUU encourages young people to actively participate in evangelism and missions. They organize outreach events, campaigns, and mission trips where young people have the opportunity to share their faith, engage in evangelistic activities, and serve communities in need.

We trained 10 leaders to lead this club and this was well done. In the same month, we focused our weekly radio program on Christ the King FM, Goli on teacher – student relationships; equipping both students and teachers with skills that are helpful for a  harmonious relationship.
