Impacting families through teaching Godly Values

Alice

Kutesa Alice, started attending SU values classes in senior 2, second term of 2019. The entire second term, her class of over 70 were taught on the Self Control module. Alice says that when she came for her first class, her expectations were high;

“I came expecting to learn, though I was not sure of what the classes were about because they were new”

She says she found the lessons on values new and interesting and always looked forward to each lesson. Through the lessons, she learnt a lot and found so much encouragement in her spiritual life.

“I learnt how to control my emotions especially forgiveness for those who have wronged me rather than bursting out with anger.”

She says that as a Christian young person, the class was a good opportunity for her to be encouraged in her faith and good discipline through the stories and the bible verses that were used to back up the lesson.

Sarah, Alice’s mother works as a business woman in Kampala. She says the family has lived here for 7 years. She is happy that while her daughter was in the school, SU  able to show her love by teaching values.

“The girl is growing in her personal time of prayer and reading the Bible and thank you for the effort to love our children.”

Even in their termly struggles to raise school fees, Alice and her mother are very hopeful about the future. Alice says she wants to grow up as a God fearing young person. Her mother on the other hand is hopeful that with a God-fearing daughter, many doors will open. She mentions Psalm 1 as a favorite family verse.

(Alice’s Class was at Namugoona Parents SS, Kampala. They studied Self Control in first term and Purity in 3rd term. The school leadership is very grateful to SU for making it possible to have the lessons.)
